On the night of December 24, 2012, Wendy left the restraints of this world and entered into the presence of her Lord. She is survived by her loving husband Justin, her parents Martha and Dwayne Parrott, sister Laurie Parrott, brother Daryl Parrott and wife Becca, niece Madisyn, mother-in-law Constance Garney, father-in-law Gary Garney and wife Connie, countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.

She attended Sam Rayburn High School where she excelled academically and enjoyed cheerleading for 4 years. She then attended the University of Texas, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology. In 2005, she accepted a teaching position at South Houston High School where she had been teaching science and coaching cheerleading for the past 7 years. She loved her students and enjoyed sharing in their successes. She followed her passion for cheerleading with her squads through many hours of practice, games, and camps.

Wendy held family near to her heart, and was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, and aunt. She met the love of her life at South Houston High School, where Justin continues to teach and coach. They were married on June 25th of this year.

Courageous to the end, Wendy battled brain cancer for almost 8 years, enduring numerous procedures, operations, and treatments without a single complaint. Her resolve was a source of strength to all that knew her. She never let cancer define who she was.
