Donna Marino

Donna Elaine Marino (McLaughlin), passed away on Friday, December 14, 2012, in League City, TX, at the age of 64. She was born on March 18, 1948, in Rutland, Vermont, and was the oldest of 9 children. Donna, a Registered Nurse, began her career in the Labor & Delivery unit spanning over 30 years. She rose through the ranks of administration and became the Director of Women’s Services, where she was a strong advocate for nurses in her field.

She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Angelo State University in Texas and was a few classes away from earning her Master’s Degree in Nursing before she passed. In addition to her career in management, Donna enjoyed her shopping trips to Marshalls, drinking her Starbuck’s lattes, traveling the world and dining out. She was known for her spunk, her wit, her generous nature and her fighting spirit in life. Her true passion in life was the love for her family. Donna and her husband of 39 years, Anthony, enjoyed participating in local antique car clubs showcasing their antiques.

She has 2 beautiful daughters, Jennifer Marino Christensen and Jaclyn Marino as well as two son-in-laws, Troy Christensen and Giustino Cellini. Donna is survived by 4 wonderful grandchildren: Julia, Colin, Lauren and Kevin Christensen, whom she adored. Surviving siblings include: Karen Kinder, Ernest McLaughlin Jr., Robert McLaughlin, Margaret Skidmore, Ann Klavin, Thomas McLaughlin and Jacqueline Vick. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Palma McLaughlin, her brother Richard McLaughlin and her beloved grandmother Emma (Nanny) Combatti.
