On February 13, 2009, two weeks after his 31st birthday, my husband Corey suffered a grand mal seizure while driving home from work. A few days later our world came crashing down when he was diagnosed with an Oligodendroglioma. Over the years, he went through several surgeries, countless different chemotherapies and the max number of radiations that he could safely receive.

Our life before cancer, was pretty normal. Our son was six at the time. We both worked in the oil and gas industry. Corey was an avid golfer and a lifelong Cleveland Browns fan. We hadn’t really thought much about expanding our family at this point but God had other plans and we welcomed a baby girl into the world on February 24, 2010. Regardless of the disease that was taking over his body, not once did his commitment to our family waiver.

For 6 years, 7 months and 27 days he bravely battled this awful disease. It was such an honor for me to walk beside him through this journey. He taught me how to be brave and strong. How to trust in God’s Will regardless of how difficult the path. He was an amazing father and husband until the very last breath he took on October 10, 2015.

I see him in our children every day and know that he will be with us until we meet again. We will continue to fight this battle in his memory and will forever remain COREY STRONG. We love you Corey!
